Part of the “MITACA” series, Magdalena Morning was taken in Huila, Colombia during a long ascent out of the river valley.
Not only is the department of Huila one of the most renown coffee growing regions of the world, but it also boasts as one of the most geographically diverse as well. Seen in this image is the Magdalena river in the early morning. I pedaled along this river for days as I travelled south into Huila, and as I climbed the winding road up and out I finally escaped the high, humid temperatures of the valley and feel cool mountain air for the first time in what felt like much too long.
This image is the last one to be featured in the book “MITACA- A two wheeled journey into the origins of where our coffee comes from.” It is only available in large landscape sizes, using extra high quality Giclée style printing on museum quality paper. Images printed in this style are considered fine art standard and express richer black and more vivid colors.
All photos in the MITACA series are taken by me from my bike during my solo journey through the country of Colombia.
